How can I book a private Adult Autism Assessment in Ireland?
You can book an Adult Autism Assessment through our website www.assessautism.ie
How much does a private Autism Assessment cost?
An Adult Autism Assessment costs €950.
Can I claim back a portion of the cost of my Adult Autism Assessment through Private Health Insurance and / or Tax Refund from Revenue?
You may be able to claim back a portion of the Adult Autism Assessment fee from both your private health insurance company (if you are based in Ireland) and also from Revenue. However, please check directly with your health insurance company before booking to confirm if you are eligible for a refund.
Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to claim back up to €575 of the full Adult Autism Assessment cost of €950 (meaning a net cost of €375 for the assessment).
For example, if you have private health insurance and your policy allows you to claim back 50% of the €950 Adult Autism Assessment cost, you would receive a refund of €475 from your health insurance company. Then, when submitting your Medical Expenses claim on your tax return to Revenue, you can claim a further 20% (€95) of the net cost of €475 of the Adult Autism Assessment. In summary, the two possible refunds are (a) €475 from your health insurance company and (b) €95 from Revenue, which equals a total refund of €575.
If you don't have private health insurance in Ireland, you can still claim a 20% refund from Revenue on the total cost of the Adult Autism Assessment (tax refund of €190) in your Medical Expenses claim.
How will my appointment take place?
You can attend your Adult Autism Assessment appointments online or in-person.
What is involved in an Adult Autism Assessment?
Our Adult Autism Assessments involve three appointments with Dr Siobhán McNally. Most people tell us they are nervous and apprehensive about their first appointment as they are unsure what to expect and worry that they won’t be able to describe their experience or differentiate between what is their experience and what is masking (as they have been masking for so long). Our aim is to make appointments as comfortable as possible. You are the expert on yourself and no one can better describe your lived experience than you.
What documentation do I receive after completing my Adult Autism Assessment?
After your Adult Autism Assessment, if a classification of autism is appropriate, you will receive documentation confirming the classification in line with HSE requirements.
If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by email at: info@assessautism.ie
